Cypriot Stelios Potamitis has been appointed by UEFA in charge of organising all the games of Italian team AC MILAN in the Europa League.

According to a press release, Potamitis holds a degree in Sports Management from Barry University in the United States, where he also worked for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. He went on for postgraduate studies in Sports Law and Management in Italy and Switzerland (The FIFA Master).

Potamitis worked for UEFA, initially in the Club Licensing and Financial Fair Department, and then in the Championship Department.

Although he was proposed for a contract renewal with UEFA, Potamitis preferred to return to Cyprus and join the Cyprus Football Association, in order to contribute to the advancement of football in Cyprus through the spirit and philosophy of UEFA.

After receiving training at UEFA, Potamitis was appointed the first Cypriot person in charge of organising European games in the framework of the Europa league and Champions League. Among other teams, Potamitis organised games for Slovan Liberec and ACF Fiorentina.

He is also the General Secretary of the Cyprus Sports Agency, which aims to contribute to upgrading sports management in Cyprus on various levels.
