Over 40 local businesses attended the launch party for a new discount card for Enfield and Barnet residents from Sophia’s Diary (www.sophias-diary.com) on Wednesday 6th September 2017.

The website was launched by Enfield mum Andrea Krase, just 22 months ago, as a platform to connect local parents to relevant businesses that work with children, parents and families. It has been described as a “fantastic resource for local parents” and used by thousands. More children are doing activities that they enjoy and many local businesses have gained more work. Community information, shows, events and children’s groups and classes are also listed on this family centred website.

There is a strong essence of the business supporting each other and the community. Free social events are organised so there is opportunity for business members to meet, collaborate and build alliances.

Joel Hockman who owns literacy group Fun With Phonics states: “We have been with Sophia’s diary for a few years now and we couldn’t be happier with the service we have received. Not only is Sophia’s diary a great way to promote ourselves, but we also feel part of a larger community, all working together to provide the best services in our local area. Thank you to Sophia’s Diary for your constant professionalism and support!”

The businesses also contribute to helping the local community. Enfield Estate Agent Cottage Fields will donate £250 to any school, if a discount card holder sells or lets their house with them. This is a generous amount from a small business and will really help schools at a time of budget cuts.

The Sophia’s Diary Discount Card can now be used in multiple local establishments. It is a great way to encourage spending with small businesses that contribute so much to ensuring children have opportunities to develop and have fun. All the offers are listed on www.sophias-diary.com/discounts
