Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) are appealing for information following an assault on a bus in Haringey.

The offence occurred on Friday, 3 February at around 21:00hrs. The victim, a 47-year-old man, was boarding a Route 217 bus at Turnpike Lane Station, N15 heading towards Enfield when he became involved in a verbal dispute with around five black males.

As the victim went to leave the bus on Boreham Road, near the junction with Lordship Lane N22, the same group of males attacked him. He was kicked and punched around the face.

The suspects are believed to have then boarded a Route 231 bus which was immediately behind the bus they were previously on.

Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene. The victim sustained serious facial injuries, including a fractured eye socket.

The suspects are described as black males, aged between 15 and 23 years old.

Officers have released CCTV images of two of the suspects and ask that anyone who recognises them, or has any information about the incident, to contact PC Michael Halifax from the RTPC via 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or you can tweet @MetCC with any information.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
