Local Enfield residents, several of them grateful patients of Barnet Hospital, arrived very early on Wednesday 5th July 2017 to celebrate the 69th Birthday of the NHS with staff.

A large Birthday Card to sign, mid-morning snacks and badges were on offer plus a huge “thank-you” to all staff for their fantastic work. Staff really appeared to appreciate the gesture.

NHS staff, along with other public service workers, are still waiting to hear if their 1% pay cap will be lifted. There are also growing worries about the recently leaked ‘Capped Expenditure Process’ that has appeared in the national press; it outlines possible cuts to NHS care in North Central London and the effects they may have.
