The new Team is being planned

The planning for the new journey of St. Panteleimon FC has started with intensive rhythms. At the next season, the Saints will play in Division 1 West at Middlesex County Football League. This will be the only Greek Orthodox Team playing on the English Football ladder, hoping to rise to higher divisions.

The upgrading of the Team from amateur to semi-professional level is definitely a vindication for all the dedicated members of the Saints who have struggled to raise their beloved Team to this level.

A Signing Ceremony was organised on Sunday 11th June 2017. The players who had been invited by the Manager George Frangeskou met at the premises of St. Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Community in Harrow – NW London. Members of the Committee, the new ball-boys (most of them being students of St. Panteleimon Hellenic College), as well as many fans had attended the Ceremony.

The local Parish Priest and Chaplain to St. Panteleimon FC Fr. Anastasios D. Salapatas had warmly welcomed everyone. The Chairman of the Football Club Savvas Andreou, the Manager George Frangeskou, the Director of Football John Armenakas, as well as the President of the Greek Community Dr. Serafim Kiriakidis had offered greetings. Then the official photographer of the Team Alexios Gennaris had taken pictures.

Afterwards everyone went to the new home ground, which is ground of North Greenford United FC and it will be shared with the Saints at the forthcoming seasons. The Committee members of North Greenford UFC welcomed all and kindly offered a guided tour to their premises. Then the actual Signing had followed with certain players for the old squad renewing their contracts and four new players signing new contracts. All players who signed were offered new and permanent squad numbers.

The four new signings are as follows:

1). Chris Spyrou Σπύρου, squad no. 17! He played last season for Asha FC & Cuffley FC.

2). Javonne Molloy, squad no. 9! He played last season for Edgware Town FC, where he was the top scorer. He is a former QPR Reserves player.

3). Leo Agathangelou, squad no. 6! He played last season for Livadia FC & Ardley United FC.

4). Elias Katsoloudi, squad no. 8! He played at the last season for Livadia FC & Ardley United FC.

Another similar Ceremony will be organised in the next few days, for players who will renew their contracts and they couldn’t make it at the first one. A surprise signing is also going to take place soon, regarding a real star of football who has played professionally at a very high level. His coming to the Saints will really signify a great success of the player transfer effort which will empower the Team enormously.

The official pre-season training will start at the beginning of August, as the actual Middlesex County League games do not start until mid-September.

In the meantime, the Manager George Frangeskou is preparing with his assistants to offer to prospective players the change for a trial. Those who will meet the criteria will be signed and they will be part of the Team for the next season.
