One of our own UK Cypriot  Bambos Charalambous wins Enfield Southgate for Labour  with 24,989  votes.

David Burrowes representing the Conservatives got 20, 634 votes.

Elsewhere, Jason Charalambous (9,925) of the Conservative Party finished second in Islington South and Finsbury behind Labour’s Emily Thornberry (30, 188) while Young Anton Georgiou, standing for Liberal Democrats in Brent Central, finished third. Cypriot Gonul Daniels of the Conservative party second to Kate Osamor in Edmonton.

Bambos is the first UK Cypriot MP in London.

Accoording to the the directory of who’s who Greek Cypriots Worldwide Bambos was born in London parents from Kalo Chorio and Fasoulla.

He attended  Chace Boys School, Tottenham College, University of North London, South Bank University and Livetpool University.

He is a qualified Solicitor and Labour Councillor for Enfield.

 The first ever UK Cypriot MP was  Chris Kelly, Conservative Member for Dudley South from 2010 to 2015. Dad Irish, and mum from Cyprus.
