British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Boris Johnson, has said that with flexibility and creativity, there is a real chance for a Cyprus settlement.

Johnson, who was in Switzerland ahead of the start of the Conference on Cyprus, met last night with President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

In a message on Twitter, Johnson said “Have been in Switzerland for #ConferenceOnCyprus. With flexibility & creativity, we have a real chance for a settlement. UK ready to support”.

He is represented at the Conference, which started on Wednesday morning in  Crans Montana, by the UK`s Special Envoy on Cyprus Jonathan Allen.

The Conference on Cyprus, being held under the auspices of the United Nations, started this morning at Le Régent Congress Centre in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
