Police in Enfield are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was stabbed and several men injured during a street brawl in Edmonton.

 

Officers were alerted after an 18-year-old man attended a north London police station with a stab wound to the leg.

 

Enquiries established he was attacked in Charlton Road, N9 shortly after 13:00hrs on Wednesday, 26 April.

 

He remains in hospital in a stable condition. Later that evening police received reports of a street brawl between men armed with baseball bats. Again this incident took place in Charlton Road, N9 and police are exploring the likelihood that the incidents are linked.

 

Up to seven men were involved in this street fight at about 20:00hrs with all those involved aged between 20 to 25.

 

Those involved fled the scene but a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and was taken to a north London police station for questioning.

 

He has been released under investigation.

 

Although none of the men stayed at the scene for treatment, police do believe they would have sustained injuries from the disorder.

 

Enquiries continue.
