Six fire engines and thirty-five firefighters and officers were called to a fire on Prince of Wales Road in Chalk Farm.

The Brigade received multiple calls to its 999 Control centre from members of the public alerting it to the blaze in the three storey terraced house.  The first and second floors and the roof have been severely damaged by the fire.  There were no reported injuries.

Station Manager Lee Walker was at the scene, he said: “When I arrived there were flames coming out of the first and second floor windows of the property, the roof was also well alight.  Crews worked hard to extinguish the fire.  Motorists were advised to avoid the area as Prince of Wales Road was closed to traffic.”

The Brigade was called at 1932 and was under control by 2217.  Fire crews from Kentish Town, West Hampstead, Paddington, Soho, North Kensington fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the of the fire is under investigation.
