First Division
Brotherhood 3 Anorthosis 8
After last week’s defeat versus Arachne, Anorthosis were out to put things right and get back to their winning ways. A good win with Anorthosis goals coming from Danny Coolridge 4, Vas 2, George Gregoriou penalty and Stephanos Stephanides. Brotherhood’s goals came from their star striker Aaron Kennedy another hat trick for him. Anorthosis were leading 7-1 then 7-2 8-2 then finally 8-3.

KLN 3 Livadia 8
KLN taking the lead in the opening minutes after a quick free kick was laid off and dispatched into the corner of the net by Nurhan. Livadia responded well and equalised minutes later through Samir Aalit who beat the keeper to the ball with his head and ran through to finish into an empty net, 1-1. Livadia then took the lead through Andreas Kyprianou who got the first of his hat trick, curling the ball into the far corner from the left hand side of the box. Livadia then doubled their advantage after Danyal Ali scored a great effort, shooting on the half volley from 25 yards out into the top corner, 3-1. This didn’t stop KLN who were awarded a penalty and made it 3-2 scored from the spot by Nurhan. Livadia responded again with Kyprianou who again curled the ball into the far corner and made it 4-2. Minutes later KLN found themselves scoring again as a free kick was crossed into the box and tucked away by Max Papacosta as Livadia failed to clear the ball. HT: 4-3. Livadia came out a stronger side in the second half and it wasn’t long before Kyprianou scored his third and probably best of the game, lobbing the KLN keeper from 35 yards out KLN then went down to 10 men when one of their players was sent off and it seem to take the steam out of their team performance.
Samir Aalit then got his second of the game soon after heading in from a wide free kick making it 6-3. Demetri Anastasiou then made it 7, scoring from close range after a cross in the box and captain Elias Katsoloudi rounded off the scoring with a well taken free kick to finish the game 8-3.

Second Division
Maronites 0 Apoel 1
Much improved Maronites gave top of the second division table Apoel a good match in very difficult weather conditions and it turned out to be a very entertaining game with Adam Lambrou scoring in the 85th minute to give Apoel a 1-0 win.
Asha 4 Cetinkaya Cinar 6
What a cracker of a game in the rain Cetinkaya Cinar started off well but it was Asha who took the lead with a goal from Luke Lane with a shot from the edge of the box. The reaction from Cinar was good in that they fought back and surprised the Asha defence with continual attacks that allowed Cetinkaya Cinar to take a 4-1 lead. But it was not over and Asha fought back in the late stages to make it 2-4, 3-4 3-5 then 4-5 and now it was game on but Cetinkaya Cinar scored in the dying minutes to ensure their 6-4 win a great game and a good advertisement for the KOPA league.
Cetinkaya’s goals came from Salih Karakis hat trick, Mark Summers 2 and Adem Esen and Asha’s other goals came from Chris Spyrou 2 and Adem Ali.
Pantel 3 Komi Kebir 1
The game started off very slow both teams trying to put a stamp on the game with Komi Kebir getting on top but they were not creating clear cut chances until the second half when Jason Lambri scored for Komi Kebir who must be asking questions how they allowed Pantel to get back in the game who finished in roaring fashion by equalising and going on to score two more goals and win 3-1. Pantel’s goals coming from Liam Esprit and George Costa 2.

Division 1 2017

New Salamis 4 Weddington Thistle 0
A great win for New Salamis and it is the third year in a row that they have reached the quarter final stage of the FA Sunday Cup and they did it in style by beating Midland’s team Weddington Thistle.
The Red’s took the lead in the 20th minute when New Salamis were awarded a penalty and Kyri Portou scored from the spot. Not long after again Kyri Portou scored again from the penalty spot.
After that Weddington were struggling to get back into the game and defensive mix up allowed Leon Mckenzie added a third poking the ball into the back of the net and the final goal at the end was a great individual effort from Sam Donohue going past two players before slotting home to make it 4-0 for New Salamis.
