The UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has welcomed the decision by President Anastasiades and the Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci to resume talks on the Cyprus issue, following two rounds of meetings in Mont Pelerin that ended with no agreement on the territorial adjustment criteria.

Posting on Twitter, Mr Johnson commented: “I welcome the commitment of the leaders of both communities @AnastasiadesCY & @MustafaAkinci_1 to re-start #Cyprus settlement talks.”

He then added that he saw the two leaders’ “leadership & vision” firsthand during his visit to Nicosia this week. “UK stands ready to help in any way it can #CyprusProblem,” concluded the British Foreign Secretary’s message.
