A 36-year-old Cypriot man stabbed to death his 65-year-old mother and then walked into a police station to confess the crime.

“I stabbed my mother,” the man told Ayios Dometios police on Friday morning.

Authorities did not release details except to say that the man has confessed to the crime and he is under arrest.

A forensic examiner was immediately called to the scene of the crime, which has been sealed off by police.

The Police found the body face down in a bedroom and continuing investigations.
