Officers are appealing for information after a woman was inappropriately touched as she walked up a staircase at Leicester Square Underground station.

At around 8.20am on Sunday 30 October, a 27-year-old woman was going up the stairs towards Exit 3 when she felt someone touch her behind.

She turned and saw a man staring at her. She confronted him and when he left the station, she followed him and called police.

He turned onto Charing Cross Road, onto Great Newport Street and she lost sight of him at the junction of Long Acre and Cranbourn Street.

Officers would like to speak to the man in these images, as they believe he has information that could help the investigation.

Investigating officer Det Con Suleman Yazdani said: “No one should ever be made to feel as violated as this woman felt.

“We are doing everything we can to catch the offender and so I would ask anyone who recognises the man from these images to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting 181 of 21/11
