Detectives from British Transport Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted whilst at Highbury & Islington Victoria Line station.

At around 6.45pm on Wednesday 2 November, a 27-year-old woman was walking up a staircase leading away from a Victoria Line platform. At the top of the staircase, a man then approached and touched her inappropriately.

The victim then sent British Transport Police a text to our discreet reporting service, 61016 and officers are now investigating.

Investigating officer PC George James, said: “This was a brazen assault that happened on a busy staircase. We will simply never tolerate unwanted sexual behaviour and we are working hard to trace the person responsible.

“I am keen to speak with the man in the CCTV images as I believe he has vital information that could help our enquiries.”
