Police were called to a residential address in Bramble Close, N15 at 21:09hrs on Wednesday, 23 November following reports of a woman assaulted.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 41-year-old woman suffering from knife wounds.

First aid was administered but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.

Next of kin have been informed; formal identification awaits.

A special post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at Haringey Mortuary at 14:00hrs today (24 November).

A 38-year-old man has been arrested at the address on suspicion of murder and taken to north London police station – he remains in custody.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched an investigation, led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers.

Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with this investigation.

The arrested man and the victim were known to each other.
