Detectives searching for 62-year old Irena Wawszczak, who went missing on Monday, 24 October, have found a body.

Officers searching near Darlands Lake Nature Reserve in Barnet, as part of the missing person investigation; discovered the body of a female at 10:05hrs on Thursday, 3 November.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however Mrs Wawszczak’s family have been informed of this development.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
