A man who attacked and stabbed a 21-year-old man three times in the back has been jailed for nine years.

Ralston Dodd – 24 (12.01.92) of Britannia Row, N1 was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment at Blackfriars Crown Court on Friday, 11 November after pleading guilty to GBH with intent.

Dodd attacked his victim with a knife following an argument in Laylock Street, N1 on Sunday, 18 September. The victim was rushed to an east London hospital for treatment – he has since made a full recovery.

Detectives from Islington Gangs Unit began an investigation working tirelessly to piece together evidence including CCTV. This analytical work led to the identification of Dodd as the suspect.

Dodd was arrested on 11 October after an extensive manhunt and pleaded guilty due to the weight of evidence against him.

Detective Inspector Will Lexton-Jones from the Islington Gangs Unit said:

“The professionalism and dedication of the officers led by DC Ben Glinski who worked on this investigation was exceptional and has ultimately led to an extremely dangerous offender being jailed.

“This was an appalling act of violence that almost cost a man his life. The seriousness of this offence is reflected in the extensive prison sentence.”
