SATURDAY 12th NOVEMBER 2016

Ryman League Division One North

HARINGEY BOROUGH  1     WROXHAM  0

BOROUGH collected all three points but should not have needed to endure such a nervous second half through spurning too many fine chances before the interval at which point they had only Ali Setirekli’s  37th minute strike to see them home.    Adrian Markus had twice found the net only to be denied by off-side flags.   In the final minute of the half Borough were forced to shuffle their line up due to injury to central defender Ross Dedman which brought Joshua Willer into the fray with Rakim Richards moving into the central role.     The second half was an even affair and when Markus was again thwarted, this time by a post, Wroxham who never looked like a table footing team stepped up the pressure but although they gave the Borough defence a serious test and won some free kicks in dangerous positions they never really managed to unduly trouble Borough ‘keeper Harry Palmer.   Setirekli got the ball into the net again in the final minute but was ruled to have fouled the ‘keeper in the process and Daniel Francis screwed a glorious close range opportunity to put the result beyond doubt just past the foot of a post in stoppage time.  Next up for Borough is a visit to third placed Bury Town next Saturday 19th followed by a visit to Ware, presently in 16th three points behind Borough but with two games in hand on Tuesday 22nd.
