Cyprus` President Nicos Anastasiades arrived today Sunday for Mont Pelerin, Switzerland, where he will hold direct talks with Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci focusing on the territorial issue, in the context of intensified talks to solve the Cyprus problem. Negotiations start on Monday and are expected to last until Friday.

 

“I am going today in Switzerland with determination and good will, keeping in mind that the solution must meet the expectations and allay the concerns of the Cypriot people,” wrote in his personal Facebook account the President of the Republic .

 

The UN Secretary – General Ban Ki-moon will open the intensive discussions on Monday, and as his spokesman has said, he was looking forward to offering his personal support to the two leaders work, as they enter into that crucial phase of the negotiations.

 

The President will be accompanied in Mont Pelerin by chief negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis, his close associates and a team of eight experts and legal advisors.
