Cyprus has not been added to the Visa Waiver Program of the USA and Cypriots wishing to travel to the States still require a visa.

According to a press release, issued by the United States Embassy in Nicosia, there have been widespread press reports this week that Cyprus has been added to the Visa Waiver Program.

“These reports are false. While progress continues to be made, Cyprus has not yet met all of the threshold requirements for admission to the program.  Cypriots wishing to travel to the United States still require a visa”, says the press release.
