Police are investigating two separate incidents involving minors aged 12 and 13, the former who was caught driving and the second carrying a hunting gun.

According to reports, at around noon on Sunday in Ayia Napa police stopped a couple in a car and a boy driving behind them in a buggy, Phileleftheros said.

After a check, police determined that the first vehicle was driven by 49-year-old man whose wife, 33, was a passenger. The second vehicle was being driven by their son, aged 12.

The family was asked to go the police station where the parents were charged and released and are due in court on Monday.

A few hours earlier, at around 8am, members of the anti-poaching unit on patrol in the Nicosia area, saw young person in possession of a shotgun. The policemen approached him and established that he was 13. He had a loaded gun in his possession and his father was some 100 metres away.

They were both taken to a police station where the father was charged and released and will appear in court at a later date.
