16-year-old boy has been charged with the attempted murder of his mother after she was stabbed repeatedly.

The victim, in her 40s, is in a stable condition in hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds at a property in Woking on Friday, Surrey Police said.

The boy, from Wallington in south London, appeared before Redhill Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Guildford Youth Court on 9 November
