Officers investigating a burglary at a Tesco Express store in Potters Bar are appealing for information and witnesses.

Officers were called at 4.15am on Wednesday, November 23 to reports of an attempted burglary at Orchard Parade, in Mutton Lane, Potters Bar.

Two offenders, both believed to be male, gained entry to the store by unknown means and attempted to break into the cash registers.

After triggering an alarm system, both offenders left the store and headed in the direction of Mimms Hall Road. Nothing was taken during the incident.

The first offender is described as being a male of stocky build, who was wearing a hooded jacket and a fluorescent vest.

The second offender is described as a male of slim build, who was wearing a dark tracksuit, a lightweight jacket and gloves.

Those who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time is asked to call Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference J3/16/1451.
