Police were called by London Ambulance Service at approximately 23:00hrs on Friday, 7 October to reports of a shooting in Hornsey High Street, near the junction with New River Avenue, N8.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the 24-year-old man was taken to north London hospital for the treatment of a gunshot injury. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

No firearm has been recovered.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating.

Six women aged in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the incident – all have been bailed pending further enquiries to dates in mid-December.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

+ The 24-year-old man in hospital was arrested on Saturday, 8 October on suspicion of assault after being found to be wanted for an unrelated matter. He remains in hospital at this time.
