First Round

Omonia 2 Upshire 1

Omonia made their first steps into the FA Sunday Cup last Sunday at Haringey Borough FC by progressing into the second round by beating Essex Corinthian league team Upshire 2-1.

The FA Sunday Cup is well known to the KOPA League after New Salamis won this prestigious all England cup last season at the home of Crystal Palace, Selhurst Park.

The Greens Omonia did not get off to a good start they were a goal down after ten minutes when a defensive error allowed Tyler Dangerfield through to give Upshire the lead.

Omonia never settled until the latter stages of the first half but they still went into the break 1-0 down.

The second half was a different story for the Greens and Omonia were 2-1 up within ten minutes. Leon Spencer scored the first after he started the move from Omonia’s penalty area and after three interpassing moves again Leon ended up with the ball at his feet in the opposing box and smacked the ball into the back of the net. For the second Marilto was there to tap the ball home to give Omonia a well deserved win .

Olympia 0 Falcons 2

Olympia were not so hot Sunday and went down 2-0 to Cambridge team Falcons. A goal in each half was enough for Falcons to go through the scorers were Napper and Louis Whitehead.

LFA Sunday Challenge Cup

First Round

Sabanoh 97 0 New Salamis 2

New Salamis won comfortably last Sunday by beating South London team Sabanoh 2-0 with their goals both coming in the first half from John Kyriacou and Deniz Mehmet.

North London Raiders 5 Anorthosis 2

Anorthosis could not compete with North West London team North London who dominated the game. Anorthosis goals both came from Stavros.
