A 44-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning in Nicosia on attempted murder charges, police reported. Police said that at approximately 2:15 am they responded to a call in an area in Nicosia, where they found a 53-year-old woman bleeding and severely burned.An ambulance was called to the scene immediately. The woman was taken to Nicosia General, where she is being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit. Authorities have said that her condition is critical. After police received a court warrant in the morning, the 44-year-old suspect was arrested to ease investigations, which remain ongoing.
