Borough recovered from being a goal down in just two minutes to secure a deserved point at their second placed hosts. Billy Jones raced away from his marker to finish clinically with a low shot into the corner of Harry Palmer’s goal. The remainder of the half was an even affair with neither side seriously testing the other’s keeper. Borough were fastest out of the block as the second half opened and their determination was rewarded only two minutes in when Dean Fenton finished a determined onslaught with a close range finish arrowed low into the corner. Borough enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the second half and might have won had another Fenton “goal” not been ruled out apparently on account of a foul in the build up. Despite their promising approach work Borough’s finishing never unduly worried the ‘keeper and but for one outstanding close range save by Palmer as he threw himself to his left to push the ball to safety would have suffered an unjust defeat. In the final 10 minutes Cheshunt began to look like a Championship chasing team as they upped the pressure and crosses rained into the Borough box causing some nervy moments but stout defending saw Borough hold onto their point
