Firefighters were called to a fire in a house on Fitzjohn Avenue in Barnet, EN5 this afternoon.

Part of the detached property’s first floor and a small part of its roof were damaged by the blaze.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers from Barnet, Southgate, Finchley and Mill Hill fire stations attended, along with crews from a neighbouring fire and rescue service.

The Brigade was called at 1330 and the fire was under control by 1648.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
