The National Federation of Cypriots in the UK, the umbrella organisation for UK Cypriot community organisations, is looking to hire an Assistant Executive Director. This unique role will combine both lobbying on the Cyprus as well as working to strengthen the diaspora here in the UK.
This unique role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to be at the heart of the Federation’s campaigning efforts to promote a reunited Cyprus for example, by organising events, meeting with British and Cypriot politicians and coordinating activities with humanitarian, and other civil society organisations. In addition, with the increasing reach of social and online media this individual will also play a key role in raising awareness of the Cyprus issue online.
As the recognised voice of the British-Cypriot community, the Federation also plays a key role in coordinating the Cypriot diaspora here in the UK. A key part of the role will also involve working with Federation member associations and the wider-community to identify and implement initiatives to strengthen the diaspora across the UK.
Anyone interested in applying will need to be a strong professional with proven planning and organisational skills. In addition they will need to be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong command of the Greek language. They will also need a high level of proficiency with social media and Microsoft Office.
