Secret railways and mysterious gardens are among the hidden treasures on Haringey’s first ever weekend of walks (Oct 1-2). Residents are being encouraged to complete one of 20 walking routes across Haringey, from exploring Tottenham’s historical corridor to finding out about the ancient wells of Muswell Hill.
Haringey’s weekend walks are part of our promotion of the 2016 year of walking which aims to get more Haringey residents to walk and enjoy our parks and green spaces. The 20 walks are available on www.haringey.gov.uk/walkingweekend and are a great opportunity to enjoy Haringey’s 18 award winning Green Flag parks.
Haringey cabinet member for Finance and Health, Cllr Arthur said: “Haringey’s first weekend of walking is the perfect opportunity for residents to get out and exercise. There are 20 brilliant walks for local people to take part in which we’ve published on our website. Walking is free and fun and I urge everyone to come and join us on our first ever weekend of walks.”
