Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an attempted burglary in Potters Bar on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29).

Between 4.40am and 4.45am an offender has attempted to gain access via the front door of a property in Parkfield View. In doing so they caused a noise which woke the occupant of the house. They then heard a car screeching away from the scene.

Detective Constable Duncan McCormick is investigating and said: “I would appeal for anyone who may have heard or seen the car leaving the scene or anyone acting suspiciously in the area to please make contact with me.”
