One man was killed and two were injured Wednesday afternoon after a man opened fire at a cafe near the Greek capital’s Omonia Square.

Preliminary reports suggested that a man, possibly a foreign national, got involved in an altercation with a cafe patron and returned shortly after with a gun.

He fired at least eight shots from the weapon. The man he allegedly rowed with died in hospital a few hours later.

Another patron was also injured, while the third casualty was a passer-by.
