Police investigating an incident in Cheshunt are appealing for witnesses and information.

A man aged in his 20s was found was facial injuries in Churchgate at around 9am on July 17.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and it was subsequently discovered that he had also sustained a wound to his thigh. His property, including a Gucci bag, cash and a gold and silver chain, was also missing.

Detective Sergeant Will Ainsworth, from the Broxbourne Local Crime Unit, said: “We are working to establish what happened to the man and are appealing for anyone with information which may assist our enquiries to please get in touch.

“The victim had been at a friend’s house in Cavell Road prior to the incident. Did you see him in the area or notice anyone else acting suspiciously? Any information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, could greatly assist the investigation.”

• A 23-year-old man from Turnford has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on police bail while enquiries continue.
