A Limassol police sergeant’s car was the target of a bomb that went off early on Friday morning, a police report said.

 

According to the report, at around 3am on Friday, the 47-year-old policeman’s car, which was parked outside his home in Zakaki, Limassol, caught fire due to the blast.

 

The policeman was able to put out the fire before the Fire Service arrived.

 

The car was extensively damaged, while the house’s entrance sustained minor damage.

 

Police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.

 

The 47-year-old sergeant, who used to serve in the crime-prevention unit, has given a statement to investigators.
