The Association of Reflexologists (AoR) are proud to announce that Mario Demetriou has been elected to the Board of the Association. His role on the Board is representative advising on Public relations and Social Media strategy.

“We are delighted to have Mario on the board representing the interests of the growing male reflexology community, and to strengthen our links with European reflexologists through his work within the Greek and Cypriot communities.”

Mario Demetriou was born and grew up in Muswell Hill, North London, and now lives in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. He has been a member of the AoR since 2009, when he gave up a career in the travel industry to retrain as a reflexologist.

With strong links to Cyprus, Mario organised a seminar in October 2015. The talk was given in Nicosia to the Cyprus Fibromyalgia Society and The Cyprus League against Rheumatism. His case study and article were featured in both The UK Fibromyalgia Magazine and the Reflexology Association of Australia’s Footprints Journal.

He lead the AoR North London and Herts Area Groups between 2013-2015, encouraging the use of Social Media to promote reflexology to the general public, and encouraging highly qualified practitioners to join the AoR and achieve MAR status, the mark of excellence in Reflexology.

Outside of his work with the AoR, Mario practices from a clinic based in Harley Street. He also continues to take an active interest in Fibromyalgia, stress management protocols and musculoskeletal conditions. He is also a registrant of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) a requirement to work as a Reflexologist within the NHS.

The AoR is at the forefront in developing professional practice in reflexology. Reflexologists with MAR, FMAR and HMAR after their names have reached the highest levels of professional training and qualifications and adhere to a code of professional ethics as laid down by the AoR.
